Going to the dentist isn’t on most people’s list of favourite things to do. We understand that and it’s precisely why we do everything we can to make your visit as pleasant as possible. It’s also why people of Newtownabbey and beyond have trusted us to be their family dentist since 1966.
We’ve built our dental practice on generation of families, both locally and throughout the UK and Ireland, and we have done so by taking the time to not only provide the best possible treatment and results, but by making our patients feel relaxed and comfortable.

Not only are we experts in all aspects of modern dentistry, we also take the time to carefully assess your individual needs and offer bespoke advice about the care of your teeth and gums. Our unique approach to Preventative Dentistry can actually reduce your need for certain treatments as well as give you a better understanding of the link between oral health and the rest of your body.
The members of our smiling team are experts at talking to children and explaining in simple terms about what they can expect during their visit. They will also teach them basic dental care in a fun and interesting way so that it encourages your child to develop healthy habits at a young age for a lifetime of smiles.
We treat patients from all over the UK and Southern Ireland and we can organise a taxi collection service for patients travelling from Belfast City and Belfast International airports and from Belfast Central Train Station (Enterprise stop).
For patients with limited mobility, our appointment desk, waiting room and two surgeries are located on the ground floor for easy access.
You can make an appointment with our team either by phone or in person. If it’s your first visit with us we will need you to bring a full list of any medications you are currently taking. Once you are registered with us our computerised system will send you a reminder text for recall appointments every six month.
Should you need to cancel your appointment we ask that you please give us 24 hours notice so we can reschedule your appointment and allow us to fill your time slot. A charge may be made if insufficient notice is given.
In the unfortunate event that you find yourself in pain and/or need urgent attention, please phone our practice immediately and we will make every effort to see you as soon as possible.
In the event of an emergency outside of our normal practice hours, our registered patients should phone 028 90863498 where you will be given further information.
As one of the few practices in the country that has invested in 3 Dimensional scanning technology,that we can take your examinations to a whole new level. 3D imagery allows highly accurate dentistry to be carried out from the location of a troublesome root canal to buried root, to the placement of dental implants with the correct knowledge of all the anatomical stuctures locations.
The future is here at Monkstown dental with the introduction of cutting edge intraoral scanners. We have been able to remove time-consuming uncomforatable impressions for most of our day-to-day dentistry. Our laboratory work is now more accurate in its fit and comfort, not to mention easier to acheive for the patient.
Your safety and protection from infection are our top priorities. We use disposable instruments whenever feasible and use only top-of-the-line procedures and the most up-to-date technology to ensure sterilisation on any reusable equipment. Each member of our staff is also trained and regularly updated in cross infection control guidelines.
ProTaper Rotary Endodontic Files are the latest technology used in the treatment of infected root canals. They allow for easier navigation of mal-shaped canals for a more efficient and thorough root canal in less time.
By using computer aided technology we give you a much faster x-ray service whilst also reducing the level of radiation exposure. We will show you your x-rays quickly on a computer screen which allows us to give you a clearer and more in-depth explanation of your treatment.
